Fall Student Show
Visit Leeds Gallery beginning on Monday, November 30, through Thursday, December 10, for Earlham's Fall Student Show featuring ceramics, drawing, metalsmithing, painting, photography and weaving. Leeds Gallery is in Runyan Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 - 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is free.

David Arbury and Lisa Pegram '97 present the convocation "Diverging Roads and Crossing Paths: The Collaborative Process in Poetry and Music" at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, in Carpenter Hall's Goddard Auditorium. Arbury's choral music has been performed by top choirs and appears on three CDs. His compositions have been featured at the Society of Composers, the Percussive Arts Society and LAVAL Virtual. Pegram's work appears in Bum Rush the Page, Beyond the Frontier and Beats, Rhymes and Life. Her music has
garnered repeat performances at the The Kennedy Center, DC Hip Hop Theater Festival and the London International Festival of Theater. Arbury and Pegram discuss how music, lyrics and friendship can coalesce during the collaborative process. The Concert Choir and Rhythm Project illustrate the process with excerpts from an Arbury and Pegram work commissioned by Earlham. The piece premieres on Friday, December 4. The Earlham Jazz and Percussion Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 4, in Carpenter Hall's Goddard Auditorium. The Jazz and Percussion programs combine forces for a concert of big band jazz, world percussion, Latin jazz and the always unpredictable delights of the Rhythm Project. Tonight's concert also features a guest appearance by the Concert Choir in the premiere performance of a newly-commissioned work for chorus and percussion by David Arbury and Lisa Pegram '98. The Orchestra is joined by pianist Findlay Cockrell for a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, in Carpenter Hall's Goddard Auditorium. Cockrell, a long-time professor at SUNY, Albany, and husband of Marcia Wilcox-Cockrell '56, and the Orchestra perform the ever-popular Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, Interplay by Morton Gould and Symphony No. 9, From the New World by Antonin Dvorak. Admission is free.
