Convocation: The Sexual Politics of Meat

Author Carol J. Adams presents the convocation entitled "The Sexual Politics of Meat" at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, in Carpenter Hall's Goddard Auditorium. Adams has written more than 20 books including the ground breaking The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory. Her presentation provides an eco-feminist analysis of the interconnected oppressions of sexism, racism and speciesism by exploring the way popular culture presents images of race, gender and species to further oppressive attitudes. Admission is free.
